Every stay includes three meals a day, cooked by your hut hosts and shared at one long table.
You'll come to plan your day around it: back to the hut for soup, out to the sauna, then dinner as the light fades. Everyone eats together — it's the best part of the hut.

A hot soup or snack waiting when you come off the trail or out of the skin track. It's the unofficial finish line of the day — arrive hungry.

A hearty, home-cooked dinner served family-style at the long table. Twenty strangers sit down; by dessert they usually aren't strangers anymore.

A full breakfast to send you out the door, with tea and coffee on the house. Early alpine starts can be arranged — just talk to a hut host the night before.
We happily accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other dietary needs — please let us know at least 3–4 days before you arrive so we can plan accordingly. Everything is packed in ahead of time, so late surprises are hard on the kitchen.
Each guest sets their own meal preferences from your trip pageafter booking — no need to collect your whole group's answers yourself.
The OPUS is a licensed tavern in the state of Colorado, with beer, wine, and cocktails available for purchase. Tea and coffee are complimentary with breakfast, and hot water is available during the day if you need it for your packed lunch — just ask a hut host.
We also keep some à-la-carte snacks on hand — salami, cheese, and popcorn — for purchase between meals.
A note on alcohol: because the OPUS is a licensed tavern, personal alcohol is not permitted at the hut by state law. Leave the flask at home; the bar has you covered.
Please bring cash or a credit card for purchases made at the hut. Credit cards are preferred.
Breakfast is at 7:30am and soup at 4:30pm — anything you want in between, you bring yourself. Pack lunch and trail snacks for your days out.
There's a small guest fridge for anything that needs to stay cold, but keep in mind it's shared with up to twenty people, so don't plan on much space. Most guests do fine with a sandwich, some bars, and whatever fits in a jacket pocket.
Meals are $70 per adult per night and $35 for children 12 & under, covering afternoon soup, dinner, and breakfast.
Meals are required for all guests — they're how the hut works. There's one kitchen, one menu, and one shared table, and everybody's at it.
